Maui’s best snorkel beaches: Napili Bay
*Scroll down for map, and big photo of the bach and surrounding area.
Napili Bay is one of the best snorkel beaches on all of Maui! Especially in the summer months when the “big waves” are on the “South” side of Maui. The waves really effect snorkeling, as it churns up the ocean and the sand, making it hard to see. Which can make snorkeling unsafe for a variety of reasons.
Napili bay has a sandy beach good for swimming and snorkeling, or simply taking a walk at sunset.
At Napili Bay, snorkeling is best on the right side of the beach as you are looking at the Ocean. Over by the Sea House Restaurant; on a calm day, you can try on the left side over by the Gazebo Restaurant (voted #1 hideaway restaurant on Maui; open until 2:PM only serving Breakfast and Lunch).
Napili Bay is a beautiful Beach with a healthy, colorful reef with live corals and tropical fish and even Honu (Hawaiian Sea Turtles) * Best in the Summer Months, as Napili is on Maui’s North Shore; famous for big waves in the winter time. Check omaui.com for the Surf Report and stay away from the big waves…..
Napili Bay has Bathrooms and Showers available next to the Seahouse restaurant. Access is on Hui Road. Latitude:20.994608 and Longitude:-156.666218. There is not a lot of Parking, however it is free parking on the side of the road. Can’t find Hui Rd? Look for the Napili Kai, which is front and center on Napili Beach.
